Dawaco Control Center

On December 8th, 2021 the contract to build a centralized control center for Dawaco was awarded to NOVAS. This is due to a realization of the scientific study “Construction of a centralized control center and upgradding the control systems at Cau Do, San Bay and Hoa Trung water treatment plants” that was approved by the Board of management of Dawaco in the Decision No. 299/QD-HDQT.

NOVAS’ scope of work:

  • Construction of a centralized control center at Dawaco’s headoffice.
  • Connecting all the control systems from Cau Do, San Bay, Hoa Trung, Hai Van, Son Tra water treatment plant to the control center.
  • Connecting all the booster-pumping stations to the con trol center.

Project goals:

  • Centralized monitoring the operation of the plants at the headoffice.
  • Store, analyze operational & production data from water treatment plants and generate necessary reports for management team.
  • Combine the management of production plants and water distribution piping systems.

Benefits brought by the project

  • Optimize the production of the whole company using a benchmark to compare each plants’ production.
  • Reduce the operational personnel as well as consumable materials thus reducing production cost.
  • Easily control and coordinate water distribution activities.
  • Quicker response time.

The datacontrol center is scheduled to come into operation in June 2021.This project has very high innovative features. Normally, SCADA systems mostly are used to collect the technical and operational data of the equipment and not to focus on the production management data. In this project NOVAS is integrating the functions of production data collecting, analyzing and reporting in real time, which helps the management team to track and rapidly respond to the production activities if needed. This is the most effective method to control the production cost thus improving the company’s operational benefits. Also, in this project the production management and the water distribution management has been combined in a unique system. This is very important as it allows the company to coordinate the water distribution during peak hours or when an input water supply shortage happens. This projectuses the SCADA version 4.0 which allows the real time data to be sent to to mobile devices thus providing anytime, anywhere remote management.
